Resulting from the collaboration between UN-Habitat and ISOCARP through the joint Community of Practice (CoP) on Urban Innovation, we are happy to promote the inaugural CoP Urban Innovation publication “Future Cities Series: Practical Planning Guidance for Innovative, Resilient and Inclusive Cities of the Future”. The Discussion Paper aims to explore breakthrough ideas, new knowledge, and new practices related to urban planning and governance innovations for sustainable urban development.

It is also a critical internal mindset and means to deliver the most creative, context-sensitive and dynamic solutions in cities. Innovation is the process, actions and outcomes that can create and provide new knowledge, tools and sustainable solutions to improve the living conditions for all in cities.
