Chiko Ncube | Author

Dr Chiko Ncube (she/her) is a Research Fellow, Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment, at the Oxford Brookes University.
Chiko is an inclusive designer, urbanist and researcher. She currently leads on project ISCA investigating infrastructures of care in collaboration with Manchester Institute for Collaborative Research on Ageing. Her most recent work include age-friendly design and inclusionary housing. She has worked on multiple interdisciplinary and international projects on inclusive design, healthy ageing and care, urban placemaking, inclusive urban ageing and migration, refugee shelter design, disability, intersectionality, digital storytelling, urban architectural heritage conservation and digital technologies.  Her partnerships and collaborations include diverse stakeholders from locations around the world including India, Jordan, Italy, Zimbabwe, Kenya and the United Kingdom. She is RTPI and RIBA accredited and has expert membership with The International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB) and City Space Architecture. Chiko regularly delivers lectures and guest talks on inclusive design, placemaking and storytelling. Chiko serves on the Board of the UK National Association for Disability Practitioners and the Board of the Ulendo Centre for Disability & Inclusive Development.
