Cycling is one of the healthiest, most efficient, environmentally friendly and financially accessible modes of transportation available. Unfortunately, the lack of safe cycling infrastructure remains a major barrier for would-be cycling residents. In too many cities, cycling infrastructure remains disconnected, incomplete and in need of innovation.
The Bloomberg Initiative for Cycling Infrastructure (BICI) is setting out to identify the most ambitious and innovative proposals to improve cycling infrastructure from cities around the world. Led in partnership with the Global Designing Cities Initiative (GDCI), BICI will award 10 cities up to $1 million to accelerate delivery of these transformative projects.
BICI will open applications for interested cities on November 10, 2022. Visit Bloomberg Philanthropies to learn more and see a preview of the application.
